The new born filly followed next to her mothers side as the two entered into their new home. Her green and blue orbs scanned the air and she smiled. She swished her brown and white fuzz of a tail against her roan and white flanks. Now that she was dry you could see the markings on her, she had green mountain like marks on her hips and neck. Her tiny black daggers struck the earth as she moved with her mothers stride. The mare had a longer stride then the filly so Echo was more at her hip then at her shoulder, but Echo didn't mind she was so excited to see her new home Her blue and green gem glimmered in the light, Raven never paused once to see if Echo was keeping up. She knew Echo was strong. The little horn was brown and white with green and blue spiral. She was a very unique filly that was for sure. Raven needed to rest she moved over to a spot and folded her legs underneath her. Echo watcher her mother lay down and she trotted around lowering her nose to sniff at the grass. She came to a screetching halt as a butterfly flew up and flew around her head landing on her soft velvet muzzle. She giggle and bipped her head and after the butterfly flew away Echo went exploring some more. Of course staying in sight of her mother.

Autumn Rain. Half sister of Jackal, she most obviously didn't share the same Friesian blood that ran through his veins. The reason that Jackal wasn't nearly as large as most Friesians was because he actually had a smidge of Arabian blood mixed with that of his Friesian mothers. It was also the reason that Autumn and Jackal looked so different from each other. While Jackal was a mixed breed Autumn was a full blooded Arabian through and through. She held all the beauty of her ancestors in her petite bodice and couldn't be more proud of the figure she had been born with because of it. She was slender and looked to have all the delicacy of a china doll and yet she was strong and well muscled despite her looks. She had a great amount of endurance and could hold her own against the finest of stallions. She was a work of art and she took pride in knowing it.
Autumn had recently had quite the encounter with a strangely rugged stallion named Ghostlock who she had allowed to court her. She had never before met the brute although she had heard mention of his name. He had treated her properly and been a gentleman throughout their exchange and something about him seemed to excite her. He was filled with mystery and in her mind she felt as though she had started to idolize him although she would never admit it with words. And now, deep inside that delicate frame of hers, was a seed that was even now swelling into a fine young foal that she knew would make him proud to have been with her. It was her goal to make certain that this foal, whether it turned out to be a colt or a filly, would be one that would not become a disappointment to her or to it's father.
And now here she was, back in her half brother's lands where she had found herself so many times before. When she became weary of travel it was always to here that she had returned and he had welcomed her each time with open arms, even as he had welcomed her this time with the same hospitality. She had yet to tell him the news of her pregnancy because the moment she had arrived he excitedly recounted the tale of a mare named Raven who he had welcomed into the herd and her daughter Echo whom she had just recently given birth to. He had begged her to come with him to meet them at once and she could never deny that childish excitement when it swelled up inside of him. She could feel the energy of his mood overflowing to her and so she had conceded to come and meet this mare and her foal.

Jackal walked astride Autumn, his half sister at a slightly quickened pace, excited for her to meet the new members of the herd. Even now he found it hard not to speak of the wonderful child that Raven had given birth to and he knew that the pride was evident in his voice. He felt slightly sheepish to have such proud feelings for a family that wasn't even of his own flesh and blood but he couldn't help it when he had witnessed the very birth of the child. He kept an anxious eye on the horizon until he finally saw the tiny frame of Echo and the figure of her mother resting upon the grass covered earth. A smile lit up his visage automatically. His excitement became renewed and he quickened his pace into a trot and than a canter no longer paying attention to whether or not his sister was keeping up. He came to a stop before Raven and than turned to the little filly leaning down and blowing air in Echo's face before nudging her gently in a friendly greeting.
"Raven. I have someone I'd like you to meet." He said as he heard his sister's footsteps behind him. "Raven, Echo, this is my half sister Autumn Rain. Autumn, this is Raven and her daughter Echo." He said with a final introduction.

Raven heard the sound of approaching hoof beats and she opened her eyes and raised her head, she saw Jackal and relaxed a little. When he said that he had someone that he wanted them to meet. She rocked back onto her haunches and got to her feet shaking off her bodice. She glanced down to her daughter thinking some. Then she glanced to the mare who approached behind Jackal. She dipped her head slightly. "Hello Autumn Rain" she said in soft lyrics. The piebald unicorn mare shifted on her feet.
Echo was romping about when two figures came into view, she trotted back over to her mothers side, and watched as Jackal and his sister came into view. She smiled up at the brute and then giggled when he blew warm air into her face. She tossed her head into the air and moved to the brutes side and walked under his belly looking up at the mare with her green blue eyes. "Hi Autumn Rain" she said after her mother had greeted her as well. She titled her head slightly as she stood under the brute. And she looked at the mares belly and smiled slightly.

Autumn smiled down at the little one just as she looked up at her. The first thing she noticed about the filly was her odd colored eyes, something that peeked her interests quite quickly. The second thing about her was how polite and well behaved she seemed. Such a sweet young child. It made her wonder what her own child would be like. She kept the thought to herself as she refrained from mentioning her own pregnancy until she could speak with Jackal in private. Despite the fact that they weren't full blooded siblings, he had always been very protective of her and she didn't want him to over react about the fact that she was pregnant, and she dare not mention who the father was until after he calmed down. The thought that she was pregnant with a well known stallion of a dark heart would definitely not earn her child any welcome points with Jackal and she wanted him to enjoy being an uncle.
"Hello Autumn Rain." She smiled at Raven in turn for her greeting and than to Echo as she too said "Hi Autumn Rain." She had such a sweet little innocent voice that caused Autumns smile to widen. "Why hello to you too Echo. I have heard nothing from Jackal but tales of you since I arrived, and I see now that it is no wonder as to why he has been so amazed at you. You can trust that his praise of you was never once exaggerated for you are as lovely as he spoke of." She said in high spirits. "You may both call me Autumn. It is my highest pleasure to meet you." She didn't mean to be overly formal but she was always brought up to be polite and it showed in the way she spoke and how she carried herself, proud and dignified, but kind and that too showed. Her gaze drifted from Echo to Raven where it lingered as she spoke once more. "I have heard much of your travels, but how are you taking to the territory? I'm sure Jack has been most hospitable." She said with a soft laugh, like the sweet melody of a song bird in the early morning of spring. She used the nickname she had given Jackal long ago when first they met.

Jackal watched in silence as Autumn greeted Raven and Echo, he knew they would get along just fine, Autumn was always kind to everyone since as far back as he could remember. Not a day went by when she hadn't acquitted herself with the proper set of manners for each and every interaction she had been in. He smiled as Autumn spoke of his praise of Echo and snorted softly, slightly abashed. He hadn't realized that he had carried on so much about her until Autumn mentioned it and now thinking back, he hardly allowed for a different subject since she had arrived earlier that day. If not for his dingy dark color he would have probably been blushing but instead he simply shifted his gaze away from the trio as though he hadn't heard a thing. He couldn't help the fact that having Echo around had given him a new perspective on life and also gave him a deeper longing that he had never felt before. A longing to have a child of his own. But he had other duties and he was certain that when proper time arose for the occasion he would be able to find a mate and settle down to raise children. Right now simply wasn't the time for such things, now was the time to watch his herd grow until it could stand on it's own long enough for him to fulfill said fantasies. And seeing it happen before his eyes was a dream come true on its own.
He gave a soft chuckle as Autumn mentioned him being hospitable. "Well I have tried," He said with a small smile as he returned his attention to them once more, "but you females have pretty high standards." He said jokingly adding a sheepish grin. "Well, if you all will excuse me, I have things I need to do before the day is up. Take the time to get to know one another." He said with a smile and then looked down at Echo and ruffled her forelock with his muzzle. "And be careful of my sister, she might bite." He whispered jokingly to Echo and winked playfully before moving away from the filly. He shook out his mane and dipped his head in a short fair well before turning and trotting away from them.

Raven got to her daggers and nickered to her daughter who was underneath Jackal at the moment. She heard Autumns words and smile. "Its nice to meet you as well" she probably already said that but what was the harm in saying it again? (Blah muse for Raven is eh)
Echo giggled as Jackal woofed warm breath into her face, and nuzzled her fuzzy forlock, She turned her orbs back onto the mare and then pranced away from Jackal as he decided to leave the three of them alone. Echo turned her attention back onto Autumn. And got this sly look across her facial features,
"Autumn" she said in soft lyrics as she walked over to the mare, glanced at her belly then back up into Autumns eyes. "Autumn is such a pretty name," she said, "What is your baby's name going to be" she asked with a smile.
Raven heard her daughters words and her ears pinned back. "Echo, Be polite" she scolded trotting over to her daughter and nosing her to her side "Im sorry Autumn, she clearly does not think before she speak." she said looking at her daughter, The gem on her horn shimmering in the pale sunlight.
(Thought I would throw in that Echo knows about the unborn foal lol)

Autumn smiled at Raven as she spoke and than turned her attention to Echo as the filly asked after the name of her unborn child. Her eyes widened momentarily in shock but was quickly over ridden with the sound of her musical laughter filling the air at how straight forward the child was. Her smile broadened as she returned her attention to Raven. "It's quite alright." She said still smiling as her laughter subsided. The part that truly shocked her was the fact that she didn't have an answer for the young curious filly. In fact, she had not given it much thought at all. Perhaps she would inquire Ghostlock's opinion on the matter. Whether it was a boy or a girl she wanted the child to have a powerful name that would bare the sentiment of her and Ghostlock's pride in the very title their child would carry. She wanted it to be something respectable but that would strike fear and awe into all who heard it. What name that would be however, she had no idea.
She once again looked upon the face of little Echo. "To be honest, I haven't given it much thought. I never thought I would have a child so soon and so I hadn't really pondered for a name.. Until now. Perhaps Echo, you may have some ideas of your own in that curious little mind of yours?" She added as somewhat a complement to the child. Her eyes returned to Raven. "You won't speak of this to Jackal will you? I wanted to tell him at the proper time only, he's been so excited lately it's hard to speak with him about something so serious. I just wouldn't want him to overreact is all." She said with a sad smile hoping the mare would understand.

Raven heard Autumns words of its quite alright. she smiled and glanced down at her daughter, nodding her head so she could speak when Autumn asked her if she had any ideas of what the unborn foals name should be.
As Echo perked her ears forward at the laughter of the mare infront of her, she listened to her say she didn't have a clue of what the name was going to be. With this answer Echo got a frown upon her features and tilted her head sideways. Then her head raised up when she was asked if she had any ideas. Echo looked at the mares stomach for a moment pondering. She frowned slightly. "How about Ghostly Rain?" she asked looking back up at the mares eyes. Echo couldn't tell who the father was, but she could sense that the unborn baby had dark in it. And somehow the name Ghostly Rain, just floated to the young filly. She glanced at her mother who lowered her head and nuzzled her. Raven then heard Autumn and she nodded. "Yes I understand" she said simply.

It was true that autumn hadn't given much thought to a name. She didn't know why but she had never even thought about someday becoming a mother. She always knew that one day she would want children, but she had never once imagined that it would be so soon. She loved and cherished children with every fiber of her natural being because she found their honest since of innocence captivating. She knew for a long time that she would want a child one day but even with that thought she had never given birth to the thought of actually being a mother. She couldn't begin to fathom what kind of mother she would be but she knew that she would want the best for her child. She would raise it to be a strong and willful heir that wasn't afraid to make decisions for itself. She wanted it to be able to think wisely on it's own without need for another's input, that way if it didn't want to rely on someone else it wouldn't have to. She hated the thought of binding it to someone for the rest of it's life in the situation that that person he or she would rely on might fail. She enjoyed the idea of having an independent child that wasn't afraid of making it's own choices, but at the same time she also wanted her child to know it could depend on her.
The thoughts that had flooded her mind since the time of her pregnancy had been overwhelming to her. She had never had such depth to her mind in her entire life, but now she would be responsible for two lives and that was a lot to handle at the moment. She didn't know how Jack did it. Not only was he responsible for his life but he was responsible for the life of any and all who entered his home and sought refuge from the harshness of this life and yet he actually seemed to enjoy it. Perhaps she would to after the child was born but for now the thoughts that pressed on her only filled her with worry and doubt. She refused to let herself think that she would make a bad mother, but at the same time it was hard to believe that she would be a good one with such limited experience. She wished she had already told Jackal about her pregnancy so that she would be able to have him to lean on it times like these where her thoughts threatened to drive her into a mental state of depression, but perhaps Raven and Echo had just become the exact crutch that she had been looking for. Just when she needed them they had been right there, it was like she had been given a miracle.
She may have just met the mare that foal but they had been as kind to her as if they had known her for a life time. She had never felt such kindness in another as she did in Raven. She felt like she could pour all of her doubtful emotions on the mare and that the mare would except her feelings and help boost her confidence. She didn't know why she felt as though she could so openly trust them. Perhaps it was because Jackal trusted them, and it wasn't often that he had made a wrong call in his life. He had always been a strong stallion and she would have trusted him with her life and that of her child at any given moment because she knew that without a shadow of a doubt he would sacrifice his life for those he loved, or for those he was responsible for. He had always been quite the "white knight" despite his rugged appearance. She had always loved that about him. No matter where she had been in her life he had always been there for her when she needed him and perhaps that was why she felt such trust for Raven and Echo now.
She was stirred from her thoughts by the young foal's response. Ghostly Rain... The name echoed within her mind and left a beautiful ring. At the same time it shocked her that Echo had added 'ghostly' into the foals title. The little filly seemed to have a deep understanding of things and a mental capability that Autumn didn't understand, she wondered now more than ever what he own child would be like. Still.. Ghostly Rain. She liked it but at the same time... Ghostlock was the name of the father... Ghostlock's Reign?? She immediately loved it. It wasn't too different from Ghostly Rain but it had both of the voicings of her name and Ghostlock's she felt like it was a title that her child could carry proudly and that Ghostlock himself would deeply approve. She beamed at the idea. "Oh Echo! Thank you so much. I have now decided. How do you like, "Ghostlock's Reign"?" She asked them both excitedly. She inwardly hoped that they would approve it as much as she did. At the same time she hoped that they would not recognize Ghostlock's title and judge her for her choice in having given birth to a dark stallions child.

((Fliper its amazing, Autumn can so totally relate to me haha, I feel sad and overwhelmed and depressed and like I wont make a good mother all the time )) Raven had lowered her head and was munching on some grass, as it seemed like Autumn was lost in her own thoughts. Her green eyes watched the mare for a moment, and then she brought her forleg forward and scratched at an itch with her horn. Raven kind of knew what the mare was going through cause at one time, Raven was feeling the same with when she was pregnant with Echo. Echo was her first foal, and she had felt like she was going to make a rotten mother, and her moods were constantly changing, It was part of nature. And all Raven could do was be here for her and be understanding. Raven raised her head when Autumn began to speak, Her ears perked forward -What do you think of Ghostlock's Reign?- were the words out of Autumns mouth. Raven snorted softly, that name rang a familiar bell. Ghostlock, Oh he was a dark stallion, that roamed Helladius. Raven was no judge and she smiled to Autumn, "That's a strong and fitting name" she said Echo had kept her eyes on the mare infront of her, even as she was lost in her own thoughts. Her fuzzy banner swished against her flanks, as she studied Autumn. The mare seemed so unsure about herself with this pregnancy. How could she be so unsure? Maybe it was because she was a first time mom? Echo didn't really know, she was still to young to understand a lot of things. She snapped out of her daze when Autumn spoke. The name Autumn chose was similar to hers. But it sounded like it held the fathers name in it. Echos tiny ears perked forward as her odd colored orbs watched the mare grow excited over the name. It was a strong name. But then echo trembled slightly and moved to her mothers side hugging it closely. "That's a strong.. name.." she said hesitantly. Her blue and green orbs showed hesitancy in them. As she looked up at the mare.

Her eyes wandered over Raven as she smiled. It felt so great to have someone that she could be around without having to look over her shoulder and wonder whether or not she was being judged. Raven's acceptance of her was more welcoming then she could express. She knew that the mare was being kind to her, not because she was the sister of the herd leader, or because it was some odd sense of obligation, but because it was her genuine nature. She felt like she would come to rely on her friendship in the future. And she was all the more attached because of the fact that Raven had a child. She knew that she might be able to seek her advice when the time came to raise her own. The thought was an ever present calm in the middle of her current storm. She felt a sudden rush of peace wash over her. Knowing she could confide in this mare and that she would be accepted as she was without being judged. It was that very judgement that had kept her from telling Jackal for so long. She felt like she had a new courage however, and perhaps she wouldn't wait so long to tell him after all.
'That's a strong and fitting name.' She felt excited just at the thought. It was a fitting name wasn't it? And it would work for either a boy or a girl but at this point she strongly hoped it would be a boy. She knew that Ghostlock had a strained relationship with his son and so she hoped to give him a son he could be proud of. She smiled at the thought. She didn't know what it was about Ghostlock that had captured her attention but she felt like he was slowly capturing her heart. She knew he was a cruel and hotheaded stallion, all darks were. And yet... she had grown attached. She wanted to see him again, to discuss the name of their child or simply to be in his presence. She hoped he would approve of the name! At first she had only gone to him so that she could have a child as she felt like it was her time, but now it was more than that. She felt like a stupid young filly in the first stages of love. She was smarter than this! And yet she could still feel herself falling.
"To be honest...." She said picking at the earth with the forefront of her left hoof. "The stallion who is this child's father.." She said once more becoming slightly distant as though trying to think of a way to tell her about him. "... Well.. He isn't the ideal father. I only let him become my partner so that I could have a child, not out of love, or even desire. But.. I feel like I'm falling for him. And I might be making a terrible mistake." She said with a sigh expressing her uncertainty. Maybe she was just a stupid filly who was in over her head. But was that such a bad thing?? She could sense little Echo's hesitancy and looked down at her curiously. She too had said that it was a strong name earlier, but now that Autumn thought back on it, she didn't know if it sounded like a complement or not. She tilted her head slightly to the side as a stance of inquiry. "What is it little Echo? What are you not telling me?" She asked kindly.
[word count - 602] [muse-good] [ooc- So I was going to have her give birth soon but I think I want to continue rping her pregnant for a while. Maybe she can pay Ghostlock a visit and the other foals on HL can age a little before she gives birth. ^^]

Raven watched as the mare, seemed to be having a small battle raging inside of her and she knew that feeling all to well, She glanced down as her she felt her daughter brush up against her side, she nuzzled the young filly, and then as she glanced back up, the sunlight streaming through the trees caught on her gem, and made it shimmer. "Well you can always come to me if you ever need anything" she stated, She smiled to the younger mare. And then her ears perked forward as Rain spoke of how the father was not an ideal, stallion. Raven did not judge. But now she knew why Echo had hugged her side. "Ahh the beginings of young love" she stated with a smile, Just be careful I would hate to see you or the baby get hurt in any way' she stated, she knew about darks all to well. When Rain asked Echo to tell her what she saw Raven looked down at her daughter and nudged her to go ahead.
Echo glanced up at her mother as she nudged her then she turned her blue and green orbs onto Rain and swallowed slightly, "I saw a lot of bad things, and death" she stated, getting as close as she could to her mothers side for comfort.

Autumn smiled at the mare once more. A feeling of comfort washed over her as she thought of raising a child in the future fit to be the heir of a king. She enjoyed the thought of watching the child frolic about with other foals it's age and growing old with a sense of complacency. She nodded as Raven cautioned her. She knew to be cautious of course, but she was young even if wise, and couldn't hold back the bubbling excitement at the heart warming thought of being a caring mother. Her attention turned once more to Echo as she spoke. "I saw many bad things.... and death." The thought disturbed her. Did the child have some sort of premonition? She silently prayed that the filly was wrong but at the same time she could find no way to discredit the flicka either. "I see..." She stated softly, suddenly sobered by the reality that this might not be what she hoped for. Still she decided to put herself at ease, what would be, would be, and there was nothing she could do but wait for it to come to pass, and so she would wait. "Well, perhaps I should find Jackal now and share with him the news?" She said although it wasn't really a question. She felt like she needed some time to herself. She smiled at Raven and Echo and dipped her head lightly. "If you would excuse me." She said with a soft smile that faded into a puzzled expression the moment her back was turned as she pondered what Echo had said.
ooc: Blergh!! Lol. That post stunk. My muse is kind of poofy right now, it comes and goes.
